Grauburgunder Calx 2022 Sparkling earthy baseCalx is the old Latin word for limestone, and it names both the soil and the wine: Grauburgunder grown on the few chalk rich parcels Andi Mann farms in Eckelsheim. This is Pinot Gris taken somewhere unexpected. A long maceration on the skins, then a year and a half resting on its lees, turns a normally soft grape into something with real grip and amber depth. Expect ripe pear and quince, dried citrus, a savoury, almost nutty edge, and a texture that
