The jacquard weave of the ribbon adds a three dimensional, almost embroidered effect to the ribbon. The ribbon measures 32 mm 1. 25 inches deep . It is sold by the meter in a continuous piece. These ribbons are woven at a few meters per hour on the same jacquard looms in Germany since 1898. Many of the designs are traditional although there are some modern designs
