Douglas DC-6A/B Super Cloudmaster Westland The new version designated HurricaneStudies of the DC 6 were started during World War Two, to meet the US Air Forces demands for long range military cargo planes. It was converted for civilian transport immediately after the War and equiped with a pressurised cabin and the means to carry 52 to 68 passengers. UNITED AIRLINES was the first company to receive the DC 6, in April 1947. Two hundred and eighty six DC 6Bs were built until production stopped in 1958. The Heller variant shown
