Smoke, tar, licorice, spice, leather and menthol develop in the glass. Deep and intense, but also surprisingly approachable for a Serralunga wine, the 2013 possesses terrific persistence from start to finish. The muscle of Serralunga comes through nicely, but at the same time, the tannins are quite soft and surprisingly welcoming for a young Barolo.
