Its medium green foliage turns orange and red in fall. The insignificant greenish yellow spring bloom gives way to the abundant tangy red fruits that can be eaten fresh or used in jellies. Best fruiting with full sun and consistently moist well drained soils. Drought tolerant once established. Red Lake is self fertile, and not a host
