As far as moves go I would use Dragon Wave more often than Giant Tale just because of the 100% hit factor of the move and by using Dragon Wave twice which will take 4 energy cards total it will do 20 more hp damage than just using Giant Tale once, which takes the same amount of energy
Over three turns, you can hopefully generate one mana, create two Constructs, and tutor a Sol Ring, Shadowspear, or Skullclamp straight onto the board
However, you can also make an "acceptable" field by starting the combo with a single card, as long as it's Deep Sea Diva, Spright Starter or Swap Frog
Luckily, a number of years later, in original Theros , we were able to give it a makeover and turn it into the mechanic devotion which was a big hit
