By adding the Tribal type, it allowed Wizards to do an end run around their rules without having to rewrite their rules (I can only imagine what weird edge cases would crop up if any card type were allowed to have creature subtypes)
Its slightly worse than it was, say, 10 years ago, as creatures became larger on average, but sniping two small utility creatures or mana dorks and drawing a card is still very efficient
I really like Kaldheim as a set in terms of its mechanics, theme and card variety, but I am bored of broken additions like Oko, Uro and Companions in nigh-on every new Magic: The Gathering set that releases
