As smpratte discussed in his video from a while back, the Gold Star set is extremely iconic in the tcg from a collectability standpointlowest print run in the tcg, unique shiny art that exceeded the border for the first time, holo bleed on some cards, a consistent artist across all the sets/cards, good selection of Pokemon and of course, really low PSA 10 Gem Mint pops for pretty much all the Gold Stars outside of the dog trio
