You stop them from winning, then after its not their turn anymore when theyre no longer an immediate threat to win, they draw two cards and you draw one card
Granting a creature a stun counter isnt the strongest deterrent, but when players have other decisions for attack targets, this small but relevant downside comes up a lot, especially in early turns
This isnt the least efficient trick of all time or anything, but it secretly just aspires to be a draw-two, and getting both cards takes work (though brings some selection)
Its fast and disruptive, and it rewards aggressive play and careful timing
