Victorian Ladies Sidesaddle Whip with Gilt Mounts - w1677 islamic Late 19th or early twentiethThis long slim whip has a gilded cap with cast foliate decoration and a loop which holds a purple silk tasselled wrist strap. It has a gilt collar, also with cast decoration and a blank shield where initials could be engraved. Between the cap and the collar the grip of the whip is covered in tan leather with a finely stitched seam. The rest of the long tapering whalebone shaft is covered in braided thread. The whip has its original vellum and silk
