This is an early Edwardian box, cedar lined with slot in sides that can be moved or repositioned, the box could also be used as a cigar box. It has a smooth plain polished finish with a slightly domed lid. The box is fully hallmarked with short hallmarks to the rim and full marks to the side of the box, hallmarks for sterling silver, Birmingham assay office, 1902, maker AJ Zimmerman.
