Made from PIWI Malvasia Istriana grapes that historically were brought from Istria (now part of Croatia and Slovenia) by Venetians in 18th century. The grapes are dried (appassimento) for 3 to 4 weeks before gently pressing then aged in French oak for 2 months before bottling.
