An early morning walk through Wildflower Park as I pass a patch of tall cup plants (silphium perfoliatum) that are still a few weeks from blooming

I thought to myself how beautiful this is with the soft morning light brushing the landscape over these peachleaf willow trees

The freshly fallen snow and the frigid temperatures at 0F help create patterns of small lines across the lake leaving shadows behind before the sunlight begins to take over during this February morning at Wildflower Park

GETTING READY TO LEAVE REFLECTIONS An early morning walk throughThere are many common milkweed plants in this part of the park. The seed pods are late opening this year and should have released the seeds a couple months ago. Many of the seeds and fluff are finally exposed and will eventually be carried off during the next windy day at Wildflower Park. (620 282)
