Dead soft is easy to manipulate and can be work hardened. Fine silver can be co fired in silver clay with no preparation. Embed the wire and fire. When embedding wire, rough up the end that goes into the clay with sandpaper. As the clay shrinks, it has something to grip to and hold. Fine silver can be work hardened by stretching, twisting, rolling, hammering, tumbling, etc., but it can not be heat hardened.
