Mid Century Design Aubusson Wool Carpet Green Design: Anatolian Oushak DesignCarpet production began in the 1740s in Aubusson, France, to serve members of the royal court for whom carpets from Savonnerie (the former soap factory transformed into a luxury carpet workshop) could not be obtained. Aubusson carpets, generally larger in size, are known for their flat weave style, although numerous carpets with pile have been produced. Initially, Oriental designs were favored; however, over time, the influence of the Renaissance
