If the biggest drawbacks you cite are that it doesn't hit all cards in a graveyard and the second activated ability costs too much, I'll take those drawbacks when I have the chance to recur the artifact with a Myr Retriever

Starke is probably the best combo leader since you have twice the chance of drawing your combo pieces naturally, but #2 below might be better for some combos

I like Stromkirk Noble just fine, and Firedrinker Satyr is decent

That doesn't sound like much, but, for Basic Pokmon with low HP totals, it stacks up fast - and the only ways to remove the Poisoned condition are to retreat the Pokmon to your Bench, evolve it, or use an ability or trainer that counters Poisoned
