When this flute resurfaced

as-new condition and reflect the refined craftsmanship associated with Stanley’s work during her career in the late 20th century

jiari-style bamboo instruments the makers used an urushi paste to shape the bore (hence the paste references) but when the flutes are made from wood this shape is created using special reamers to cut the bore profile

along with additional markings that may reflect regimental use

Features bore and hole spacing sizing suitable for players with small to medium hands. The flute plays at A=440 with the head joint extended 5 8 of an inch. This flute has a nice smooth bore and smooth finish, with small holes that produce a pretty quiet, mellow tonewell suited for a kitchen duet or playing around the house. Condition notes: Several repaired hairline
