This product simply replaces the 5101 SRAM chip. You can plug it into a socket, or solder it in directly. If the socket, it MUST be a new one. This part will not repair an MPU that has other problems, or damaged traces. You must know what you are doing and have a working board first. This product also requires soldering skills. You get a 60 day warranty with replacement only.
