Dark Star Double Oak Rye Mezcal Legent starts with premium grainsIn December 2015, MGP filled a dozen barrels from an undisclosed cooperage with 95 5 rye whiskey to test their barrels. By 2019, so much whiskey had leaked out, the test was ended. Thankfully, the remaining whiskey was vatted and rebarreled into five Zac Cooperage #4 Char barrels.
