Inspired by these creatures, Tanguy has hand carved this piece from oceanic rosewood. In Marquesan culture, the manta ray is seen as a protector, a symbol of wisdom, trust, and strength. The top of the piece is adorned with ancestral symbols, carved to carry protection and meaning.
